The Bates Method for Better Eyesight

Background to Bates

Dr William Bates, a researcher of ophthalmology in the New York area, spent years studying ways to develop a method for relearning to see without the need for glasses. Developed originally as vision therapy for children, the method can help anyone of any age. Essentially the method involved relaxing the eyes and encouraging teachers to provide opportunities specifically for this in the classroom. Dr Bates' method was against the traditional optical community and he actually left his practise disillusioned.

Professor Duke Peterson

More recently, Professor Duke Peterson, a certified ophthalmologist and author of Vision Without Glasses, has improved on Dr Bates' method by developing an innovative and more advanced way to recover sight naturally. Dr Peterson spent 5 years perfecting Dr Bates' study and established his own corrective eye institute. He has created a fun and easy system that applies to all ages and many visual problems with outstanding results: "I started the program and my eyes felt renewed in just a few days - as if they were re-born."
